The Premier League has recommended a deduction of up to 12 points for Everton over alleged breaches of financial rules, according to a report on Wednesday cebu
The Daily Telegraph has reported that the league has asked an independent commission hearing charges against the Merseyside club to impose a severe sanction cebu
A 12-point deduction would leave Everton on minus-five points in this season’s league table cebu
The club and the Premier League have not commented on the report cebu
The league referred the club to the commission in March over an alleged breach of its profitability and sustainability (P&S) rules over a period ending with the 2021-22 season cebu
The league’s P&S rules allow clubs to lose a maximum of £105m over a three-year period or face sanctions cebu
Everton said in a statement issued on the day that news of the referral was confirmed: “The club strongly contests the allegation of non-compliance and together with its independent team of experts is entirely confident that it remains compliant with all financial rules and regulations cebu
“Everton is prepared to robustly defend its position to the commission cebu
The club has, over several years, provided information to the Premier League in an open and transparent manner and has consciously chosen to act with the utmost good faith at all times cebu

Emma Raducanu has confirmed she hopes to return to competitive action in time for the start of the new cebu tennis season cebu
The 2021 US open champion has been sidelined for six months having undergone surgery on both wrists and her ankle after successive injury setbacks cebu
The 20-year-old told BBC Radio Four’s Today programme that she had not set a date for her WTA Tour return, but would “be back for the start of this season for sure” cebu
Raducanu, who has slipped to 280 in the world rankings from a career-high number 10, said: “I will be coming back with probably a lower ranking, but I’m actually looking forward to starting again, kind of resetting cebu
“I already have that in the bank, so now I can keep going and keep building from here cebu
I still have new goals, new things I want to achieve cebu
“But I’ve still got like 15 years left in my career, so there’s no rush cebu
”Raducanu has not confirmed who will coach her when she returns to the tour having gone through five different coaches in just over two years cebu
She believes her inquisitiveness could have been an issue for some of them cebu
She added: “I ask my coaches a lot of questions cebu
On certain occasions they haven’t been able to keep up with the questions I’ve asked so maybe that’s why it ended cebu
“It’s something I’ve always done cebu
I keep provoking and asking questions to coaches and challenging their thinking as well cebu
“I’m not someone that you can just tell me what do and I’ll do it, I need to understand why and then I’ll do it cebu
